The Teaching Staff of general hygiene and ecology

Department

· The department began its work in July 1957, primarily through the efforts of a young assistant Eugene Ignatievitch Goncharuk (1930-2004). Later - academician, Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and more than 10 science academies of other countries, for 20 years the rector of Bogomolets NMU.

· The first head of the department was an official candidate of medical science Mariya Antonova. She graduated in 1949 from Kharkiv Medical Institute. In Ternopil worked from 1957 to 1959.

From 1959 to 1975 the department was headed by Professor O. V. Perov.

  • From 1976 to 1995 the department was headed by Professor V. M. Serheta.
  • From 1998 to 2002 the department was headed by prof. Bogdan Boychuk .

· In 1995-1998, 2002 - 2004 prof. V.A. Kondratyuk - Head of the Department of General Hygiene and Human Ecology Ternopil Medical Institute.

· Since September 2004 to today head Department of General Hygiene TSMU is professor Kashuba M.O.

professor Mukola Kashuba

MD, PhD, DSc

In 1970 he graduated from Kremenetskiy teaching and in 1977 - hygienic faculty of Lviv State Medical Institute. Many years worked at Kremenets Regional Sanitary station. From 2000 to 2004 - assistant, and since September 2004 - head Department of General Hygiene TSMU.

He is the author and co-author of more than 113 educational and scientific publications.

Scientific interests: research anthropogenic impact of nanoparticles on the human body.

Professor Volodumur Kondratyuk

MD, PhD, DSc

In 1959 graduated the sanitation department of the Lviv Medical Institute. Worked in Dzhambulskiy oblSES. In 1964 after graduate school in Alma-Ata Medical Institute, worked as an assistant department of general hygiene Aktyubinsk Medical Institute. From 1966 to 1978 V.A. Kondratyuk works at the department of general hygiene TDMI assistant, an assistant professor from 1978. In 1991, after defending his doctoral dissertation (1990), he was awarded the title of professor in the department of general hygiene with ecology. In 1995 he was elected a member - correspondent, and in 2000 a full member (academician) of Ukrainian Ecological Academy of Sciences. In 1995-1998, 2002 - 2004 rr. Prof. V.A. Kondratyuk - Head of the Department of General Hygiene and Human Ecology Ternopil Medical Institute.

He is the author and co-author of 400 publications, 5 patents. Scientific interests - the study of problem of using of drinking water, quality of water.

Associate-Professor Galuna Krytska

MD, PhD

She is in 1990 graduated TDMI and postgraduate studies at the department of general hygiene. In 1994 defended his thesis "Hygienic aspects of extracurricular activities of students of specialized secondary schools". Since 1998 - Vice-Rector of the national-patriotic education.

She is the author and co-author of 140 scientific and educational publications and 2 monograph.

Scientific interests: hygiene of children and adolescent.

Associate-Professor Olena Lototska

MD, PhD

In 1982-1988 studied at the Ternopil State Medical University, after which she worked pediatrician. In 2005 defended thesis on "Toxicological and safety standards justification potassium and sodium ions in the water". She is the author and co-author of about 170 educational and scientific publications. Research interests - deals with the problems of water pollution by harmful substances.

Associate-Professor Olga Sopel

MD, PhD

In 1985-1991 studied at the Ternopil State Medical University, after which worked as a doctor of functional diagnostics.

In 2004 she defended her thesis on "The role of the breach free radical processes and endogenous intoxication in the pathogenesis of kidney damage poison pale toadstool and their correction."

She is the author and co-author of about 120 educational and scientific publications.

Research interests - Is studying the processes of free radical oxidation, antioxidant system, nitric oxide, markers of endogenous intoxication in effect on the body toxins pale toadstool and correction of changes with antioxidants.

Associate-Professor Konstantin Pashko

MD, PhD

In 1968 he graduated from the Military Medical Department of the Saratov Medical Institute and in 1978 - faculty leadership of the Leningrad Military Medical Academy. SM Kirov. He worked as chief of medical service, regiment, division. From 1985 to 1992 was a lecturer of military medical training TDMI and Head of Studies, from 1993 to 1994 - head of department. Medical colonel retired. In 1993 he defended his thesis on "The ultrastructure of cortical nephrons with severe burn injuries and the use of antioxidants." The work at the department, he combines the duties of Chief of Educational Department Medical University, and Director of the Institute.

He is the author and co-author of 60 scientific and educational publications.

Research interests – radiation hygiene.

Associate-Professor Natalia Flekey

MD, PhD

In 2004 graduated from Ternopil State Medical University. In March 2010 defended thesis on "Hygienic evaluation of the use of cadmium in drinking water with different concentrations of sodium ions" in the city Kiev. Since February 2018 working as assistant professor of general hygiene and ecology.

She is the author and co-author of more than 40 teaching and scientific publications.

Scientific interests – drinking water, pollution of drinking water by heavy metals.

Senior teacher

Neonila Golka

MD, PhD

Since 1971 after TDMI and graduate work at the Department of teacher N.V. Golka [born 1.1.1945 in s.Hvardiyske Khmelnitsky region in 1968 TDMI graduated in 1971 graduate school]. In 1974 defended her thesis on the study of the actions petroleum bitumen and mineral filler in the manufacture of cold asphalt on the development of pneumoconiosis in natural and experimental conditions. Performing contractual work studying the allergenic effects and general agents. She worked several years head teacher of the department. From 2007 to 2010 taught at Berezhany Agrotechnical Institute at the Department of Ecology and Environment. She is the author and co-author of 100 scientific works, including 1 manual, 1 monograph, 5 patents.

Scientific interests – hygiene of nutrition.

Assistant Orysia Smachylo

MD, PhD

Graduated from Lviv State Medical Institute in 1980. After graduation he worked as a therapist in Antoninskiy District Hospital number 1 and Krasylivske central district hospital Khmelnitsky region. Since 2004 he has been working in the Ternopil State Medical University of Gorbachevskogo first assistant at the department of pharmaceutical sciences, and in 2007 – at the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology. Conducts classes of Ukrainian-speaking students.

She is the author and co-author of 11 scientific works. Scientific interests – examines the impact of different types of magnetic fields on the human body, the principles


Assistant Oleksandra Kopach

MD, PhD

In 1990 graduated from the Ternopil State Medical Institute, specialty "Medicine". Powered by the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology of September 2015.

Candidate of Medical Sciences from 2015 theme of the thesis "Pathogenic liver damage in the mechanical trauma of varying severity in conditions of excess intake of ions, copper and zinc."

She is the author and co-author of 5 scientific works.

Scientific interests – engaged in heavy metal's influence on the course of injuries of varying severity.

Assistant Olga Fedoriv

PhD

Fedoriv Olga graduated from the Ternopol State Pedagogical University named after V. Hnatyuk in 2004 with a degree in chemistry and biology, receiving a full degree in the field of «Pedagogy and methodology of secondary education. Biology and Chemistry». She has received qualification of the teacher of biology, chemistry, valeology and bases of ecology. From 2004 till 2009 she worked at the Ternopol Communal School before pre-conscription training as a teacher of the «Basics of health education» for girls of grades 10-11. Since December 2009 she worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology, and from 2012 – Senior Laboratory of the Department of Functional Diagnostics and Clinical Pathophisiology. And from 2015 she worked as an assistant and senior laboratory assistant of the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology. From 2016 she works as an assistant of the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology.

Areas of scientific research and sphere of scientific interests:

· Water hygiene and water supply;

· The influence of compounds of heavy metals on the body.

She is the author and co-author of 14 scientific articles, 1 monograph, 50 theses, and 4 patents for utility model, 1 industry innovation and 1 newsletter.

Assistant Yurchushun Oksana

MD, PhD

From 1995 to 1998 - student nursing department Sambir Medical School, 1998 to 2000 - student of higher nursing education, while Lviv Medical University named Danylo Galician, from 2000 to 2001 - Nurse interregional somatic hospital for prisoners Directorate of State Department of Ukraine Penitentiary in Lviv region, from 2000 to 2002 - student socially-humanitarian faculty of Drohobych state pedagogical University named after Ivan Franko, from 2001 to 2007 - student of the medical faculty of the Lviv national medical University named Danylo Galician, from 2007 to 2008 held internship in "sanitation".

In 2013 she defended her thesis on "Adaptation of children of primary school age to training loads in iodine deficiency region."

Deals with the problems of physical development of children, iodine deficiency in the region and research of heart rate.

Іs a co-author of 6 scientific articles and 31 abstracts.

Senior Laboratory Assistant

Larusa Gunko

Since 1977 the department has Larisa Mikhailovna Gun'ko. First Fellow for scientific work in economic and contractual basis, and later as a senior laboratory assistant at the department. From 1997 she worked at the department as a senior laboratory assistant and part-time teacher. L.M. Gunko - an experienced scientist in the field of hygienic regulation. In 1973 she graduated from the chemical faculty of Lviv State University.

She is the author and co-author of about 50 scientific papers.

Scientific interests – deals with the problems of hygienic normalization of harmful substances in the water.

Senior Laboratory Assistant

Bronezka Natalia

In 2002 she graduated from the Ternopil State Pedagogical University named after V. Gnatyuk chemical and biological faculty, having received higher education in the specialty "Pedagogy and methodology of secondary education. Biology and chemistry "and qualified teachers of biology, chemistry, ecology valeology and bases.

Assistant Melnyk Nataliia

MD, PhD

In 2013 she graduated from the Ternopil State Medical University in the specialty "Medicine".

In 2018 he defended his Ph.D. dissertation – "Clinical and pathogenetic features of chronic pancreatitis in combination with ischemic heart disease, optimization of treatment and rehabilitation" in specialty 14.01.38 – general practice – family medicine.

Scientific interests are optimization of integrated treatment and rehabilitation of chronic pancreatitis at the primary level of provision of medical care.

She is author and co-author of about 41 scientific publications.

At the general hygiene and ecology

departmen students study:

· Analyze the environment sate and its factors influence on population health.

· – Master methods of hygienic assessment of the environment factors’ influence on population health.

· – Interpret main laws of hygiene and general patterns of connection between health with factors and conditions of vital activity.

· – Substantiate hygienic measures concerning the infectious diseases prevention.

· – Plan measures to provide the healthy lifestyle, personal hygiene and their practical apply into public health.

· – Plan organizational and subject measures concerning preventive and regular sanitary inspection.

· – Approve plans of preventive measures with the development plan of territory, administrative and industrial units.

· – Analyze the environment state based on the integrative assessment criteria of population health state.

· – Substantiate the carrying out of the preventive measures according to legislation of Ukraine.

· – Plan the organization of the medical care during emergency situations.

Training is provided in three languages:

· Ukrainian,

· Russian,

· English.

The practical classes

In optimizing and modernizing the educational process have been using virtual whiteboards and video systems during the workshops and during lectures. At the Department was established the base of training videos of hygiene (over 300 titles). Each lecture of hygiene is illustrated by video , it improves students learning.

The practical classes on the faculty of foreign student

For a better mastery of practical skills the lines of practical skills – matricules are used.

Teachers of the department published 12 books of Hygiene, 12 tutorials, 3 reference books, 7 methodological recommendations, over 85 educational and methodical articles.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

The scientists of the department:

· research anthropogenic impact of nanoparticles on the human body;

· engaged in heavy metal's influence on the course of injuries of varying severity;

· deals with the problems of water pollution by harmful substances;

· i studying the processes of free radical oxidation, antioxidant system, nitric oxide, markers of endogenous intoxication in effect on the body toxins pale toadstool and correction of changes with antioxidants.

Scientific research resulted in 11 doctoral and 48 master's theses, 13 books, 7 books of Pharmacology, 12 textbooks, 3 reference books, 6 popular science brochures, 7 guidelines, more than 450 journal articles and over 700 other publications .

INSTITUTE OF CURATORS

At the general hygiene and ecology department the cultural educational work has a great value. It contributes the formation of spirituality, humanism, patriotism, artistic, aesthetic and physical culture, and supports the love for historical heritage of Ukraine.
